The River Avon meanders through the centre of the town providing the ideal setting for much river activity. The banks on either side provide tranquil and restful parks and gardens in which to relax and unwind. Rowing boat hire is available from Abbey Park and a boat trip offers regular cruises up the river for our visitors, passing by the old rope ferry at Hampton and Clarkes Hill, the site of the Abbey vineyards.

Group visits are available for parties of between 10 and 60 incorporating coffee on arrival, a conducted tour of the Almonry Heritage Centre and a boat trip (30 or 45 mins) all for an inclusive price - details from Tom Sandham Tel: (01386 442338)

The town of Evesham and the immediate area offers a wide range of leisure facilities.

Leisure Facilities.
For the more active, the Leisure Centre provides a swimming pool, squash and badminton courts and a fully equipped gymnasium. Fishing permits are available to fish from the riverside meadows and fishing for the disabled is reserved from the Workman Gardens.

Within the immediate area of the town there are excellent golfing facilities open to visitors. The area provides excellent opportunities for walking and cycling.

The Crown and Corporation meadows as well as the Abbey Park offer excellent facilities for families with children to relax, picnic and let off steam. The adventure playground in the Crown Meadow provides a protected safe area for younger children to play. The Abbey Park has a crazy golf course and a children's paddling and boating pool, once one of the Abbey fish ponds. Recapture those Sunday afternoons in the park of yesteryear, and come and listen to the concerts during the summer season.
